“The implication by Dick Cheney that the declassified Congressional report claims that President Bush was deceived about the CIAs torture methods entirely misses the point . . . of the reports finding that the CIA misled the president and Congress. The conclusions drawn by the report characterize the CIA as being in effect a rogue institution commandeered by a faction, which operates outside the law, without oversight or accountability. The accusation could not be more devastating for the CIA,” Grossman stated. The fallout of what the CIA has done and the US failure to hold anyone responsible will set the cause of human rights back at least 200 years.”
