The important thing is not the punishment it is if the punishment is fair consistent and done out of love not anger. Any punishment can be used in a constructive or detrimental way. It is merely a tool. And before I get hate mail for my moraly superior soap box. I am a new dad of a year and a half. And versions of this statement has been being played over and over in my head for over two years. You can ask my wife she has heard versions of it. I have asked her to help me live by it. I still fail some times.
