The inaugural Port Port MTB is complete! The last stage started and finished next to sand with sections of bitumen cycle paths, fire roads, single track & beach which stretched for miles(or so I thought!). Another fast stage in the mix with some strong riders who played their strengths across all the terrain- I was lucky to master the beach a bit better & moved up the field, just about holding my place to the finish. I won the stage from a very fast ride by Em Parkes with Imogen Smith not far behind & thats how the Womens GC finished overall. My goal going into the race was to crack top 20 overall- MAY have done it!!! Andy & Shaun sprinted for a 1,2 today and Andy held his small lead to take the overall win, giving Swell Specialized overall elite wins. So I leave the crew from Port to Port MTB with great sadness as we all said our thanks & goodbyes, but hey...Cape to Cape MTB isnt too far away to keep the memories alive & momentum kicking for another awesome event!My SWorks Epic was unstoppable this week in all conditions & kept me smiling. Im stoked to have raced with such great people all week & have heaps of support throughout the week that helped me perform- Specialized Australia, SRAM Australia, Drift Bikes, Torq Australia , Fenz for the great advice & laughs, Laura Lewis (&3/4!) & the Cameron Ivory family. Port to Port is going to be MASSIVE in 2015...see you there!
