The inconvenient truth... Nana Addo has won, with a little over - TopicsExpress

The inconvenient truth... Nana Addo has won, with a little over 80%, congratulations to him. However, I am sad for him and these are my reasons 1. He lost previous national elections marginally with widening gaps over time, indicating his appeal to swing voters is dwindling, a reason he needs to retain all votes from the NPP. 2. He has watched without public rebuke prominent members of his party declared open support for him, a phenomenon that embittered other contestants. Interestingly, these declarations were selfish, needless and destructive because he would have won without them, but he enjoyed them. 3. Clearly, the field wasnt levelled, neither was the process fair per their own guidelines, however Nana Addo didnt complain because it favoured him. My inferences.... 1. Contestants draw solace from fair play when they lose an election. A renewed strength to work together for a common goal when assured through action of an equally fair treatment should their party win. That hasnt been the case so far 2. Nana Addo may not enjoy the unflinching support of these minor candidates, a thing he seriously needs to become president. 3. Nana Addo may lose some NPP votes in 2016 because of their internal issues 4. These seeming minor embittered hopefuls may sit on the fence in 2016. What shall it profit Nana Addo to win all primaries and lose the main elections come 2016
