The inspiration for Soleful Caring, Shoes For The Homeless, came from a discussion I had with my good friend Dr. Stan van Duyse, (pictured) a medical physician in Montreal. He explained the need for proper footwear for the homeless in Montreal. This discussion occurred a few years ago and as the weather got colder this fall, I decided to start up S.C. and see if we could collect and distribute boots and shoes to those that are in need. Next Wednesday, January 14th, Stan and I will be visiting Halifax to help distribute some of the donations and finally meet the team of volunteers involved in the project. If you have footwear that is gently used that you no longer need, please bring them by for donation and say hello. :)
