The intention of the ongoing posts is to help make clear the power in and the implication of the sacrifice of Jesus. Its not about encouraging sin,and we have earlier posted that the power of sin is broken - Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him , that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. But if sin is treated in the new testament just as it is in the old testament, we should then wonder why Jesus died? Hebrews 10:4, 11-12, 17 reveal; For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. [11] And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: [12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; [17] And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Can I leave you with some questions tonight? When exactly were we forgiven? a) when Jesus shed his blood b) when we realised he died c) each time we confessed our sins after we got born again. Pls think through the bible properly and sincerely and let me have your answers with scriptures.
