The introduction to the new responsibilities and how they will be taken care of didnt go over well. As I suspected. The chores are the same but I did add unloading the dishwasher because you know, its a lazy chore so I figured hed have no problem with that, easy peasy, right? Ah, no! Gavins chores are as follows: - Dirty laundry brought to laundry room - Feed the animals - Bring in 10 sticks of wood - Scoop cat litter - Put clean dishes away - Clean toy room every night before bed His chores have to be completed (with the exception of the toy room) before he gets to turn on Xbox or Netflix. The toy room is to be cleaned when the toy room shuts down for the night, 6 pm. The rule is, do your chores or participate in the 3 strikes and you are out program: Strike 1 warning Strike 2 lost Xbox and Netflix Strike 3 grounded to your room If toy room isnt cleaned by 6:30, sent to bed. They both were sent to bed an hour early last night, they were mad. Lets see how tonight goes. Gavin had all his chores done by 10:30 and has had free time all day and hes enjoying it. For the whole month of January, this will be a no tolerance action plan, just like December with bed time. There is no extra warnings, no reminding them, etc. My job is to teach these boys respect, responsibility and safety and through out the last 3 years my follow through has been staggered at best and with the meds almost gone and Im feeling like me again, and I have a lot of catch up to do. Those who disagree with me, I want you to know, I simply dont care what your opinion is on the matter. Im sick and tired of people constantly being at me about what I can and cant do and what I can and cant post on facebook. Id say, theres the door but Ill point you to the unfriend button. Im done with being walked on because frankly Im done laying down for them to do so.
