The invitation: Ages, then and now. Then: At age 22 Where I lived: I spent that year traveling: a hitchhiking and walking tour all round Scotlands Highlands and Islands; then to New York City, Washington D. C., and western Pennsylvania, base camp for a hitchhiking tour in which we took in 33 or 34 different states, lingering with family in the mid-west, lingering more along the west coast, then Cuidad de Oaxaca and the southwest coast of Mexico, then via Tucson, Pennsylvania and NYC back to Scotland, at Hogmanay. What I drove: I hitchhiked, walked or bicycled. What I did: walked away from my fourth year of art college in March (didnt need their bit of diploma to know if I was an artist), drew a lot, traveled, worked as a handyman and housepainter, made a wild rocking horse, started making oak furniture. Who had my heart: I married my traveling companion that year, on a cliff above waterfalls; mother to my 3 older children. Now, at 57: Where I live: A farm cottage (small) with studios (large) outside a village in Norfolk, England. I drive a Mitsubishi L200 4WD pickup. And my bicycle. What I do is paint and sculpt, 35 years of it. Who has my heart: me, Im resting it, and caring for it as well as I can (with a little help from some cardiology hospitals). However ... Like my status and Ill give you an age of your own.
