The island is where I want to bring my family and to entertain seniors while encouraging the public to check out all that is offered there. The airport was once adequate for small recreational aircraft. And for many, watching a biplane take off and land is quite entertaining. Not so with larger planes, whereas the mystique and awe of a several ton vehicle sailing through the sky wears off after awhile. I would just like to get away from the city, a place with constant traffic noise unheard across on the island. Removing the jets for me personally is how I would want as an outcome. The space would be very useful as we could create something wonderful there for people to see, imagine if it was to grow herbs and vegetables. Feeding people is must more important and can be quite profitable as well. It can save taxpayers money from their very own pockets by having the space to grow their own food. If there were no planes, we could put in a Gondola as someone suggested and move people to the island more quickly. Instead, we have a federal body imposing ideals of an outdated objective to use the island airport solely for military use.
