The issue of hunger and starvation in Baringo County is a paradox that is totally avoidable. It is as oxymoronic as saying, a STARVING MILLIONAIRE and speaks of the total failure of county government to plan and put in place adequate early measures to mitigate it. Baringo has diverse agriculturally rich ecological zones which can produce enough to feed every one. Besides, the areas affected by the biting hunger are rich in livestock and if enough measures are put in place to open up the markets and spur trade, the population shall have sufficient economic muscle and with this purchasing power, they can buy food even if they dont produce it. All that the policy makers need to do is do exactly that, make policies.
