The issue of seeking the Forgiveness of Allâh, Allâhs reward for it, and the necessity of the slave for it. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said: إِنَّهُ لَيُغَانُ عَلَى قَلْبِي وَإِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ “Sometimes I perceive a veil over my heart, and I supplicate Allâh for forgiveness a hundred times in a day.” Narrated by Muslim, 2702, Abu Dawud, 1515, Ahmad, Al-Musnad, 4/211.
