The issue of selling Suarez on would become insignificant if he were to stay at the club for a significant amount of time, where a reduced fee would be tolerable. However, when we analyse the likelihood of this outcome we can see that it is not to be expected. Firstly, he has a reputation to be unprofessional and troublesome, this can bring unwanted attention to a club that upholds good practice and proficiency, and could force the club to consider selling. Secondly it can be strongly argued that he has only had one good season at Liverpool, whereas he worked hard the previous 18 months he was at the club, his output for the team did not match up to the impact he had last season. This would suggest that once he feels a move is possible he has his head easily turned and is very opportunistic, even where a club has strongly supported the player through controversial incidents and public scrutiny.
