The journey for a better democracy has just began. WE must not - TopicsExpress

The journey for a better democracy has just began. WE must not forget our past in order to have a better future-Gov. Kayode Fayemi. It is a commonplace today that people chronically suffer amnesia mostly especially when they are placated with some miserable token. But the iconic people of Ekiti State are not in the category of people that suffer fool gladly, and that is why i sturdily take unbridled pride in championing anything that promotes the cause of my people. Just like yesterday another election is around the corner and that is why we must not mindlessly remiss our past as a people known for impeccable iconoclasm. Going down the memory lane, elections in Ekiti had always been characterized with thuggery and all other unmentionable anti-electoral disposition, not for the fact that we always choose to thread such opprobrious path but owing the inexscusable fact that we are always at the receiving end of unmerited leadership imposition. In 2003, Fayose emerged a distant third in PDP primary but later imposed by Obasanjo despite the fact that he was in paucity of leadership acumen to preside over the intellectually sophisticated Ekiti PEOPLE. In 2007, such ugly repetition of history also surfaced where Segun Oni also emerged a distant third. Oni brazenly pilfered the mandate that was given to Gov Fayemi, but after a protracted 42 months legal tussle the mandate was recovered through a landmark judgement delivered by Honourable Justice Ayo Salami in Oct. 15 2010, at Kwara State Court of Appeal. Come June 21 this year another golden opportunity to elect a leader that will lead us for another political peregrination of four years. So, it is up to us to be circumspect of who to pilot this four years democratic journey. We must not be sympathetic to emotion and allow another episode of truculent and belligerent reign of fustian supreme manifestation of thuggery. We should not forget which side our bread is administratively buttered. We should not give room to looters to purloin our staggering wealth. We should not give opportunity to indiscriminate killing spree. These mischief makers are at the top of it but through our collective espouse we can foster continuity by re-electing Gov Fayemi. My people, exercising our franchise wisely is what can parry another deceptive attempt to scandalously put Ekiti in the indignity of staking our pride. JKF koduroske!
