The journey to democratization, we have seen doesnt start with the Old Generals of 70years. We have experimented it with the then powerful General Obasanjo but failed woefully. Nigeria as a nation does not need a leader with Military background. Research has shown that Ex-Military personnel don’t make good democratic leaders; because they are dictatorial in nature. Buhari/Idiagbon regime, though tagged as a no nonsense regime, infringed on fundamental human rights. Jailed so many innocent people without trial. Press was limited and confined, free movements was curtailed. Freedom of speech, expression, association, gathering were hindered. Nigeria, with about a population of 170million need a versatile leader; who can stand in the committee of nations and discuss, analyze and proffer solutions to any given problem without long thought. A leader that can grant press conference, without resort to a typed or written speech. Young, vibrant, intelligent and educated leader. Never again, will Nigeria be led by non-graduate, semi-literate or educated-illiterate President! The Presidential debate hosted by the NN24, a cable news station in 2011 exposed Buharis ineptness and cluelessness. Shekarau was the only candidate that stood high. In the other presidential debate organized by the BON, President Goodluck Jonathan performed excellently well. He was at pal with Shekarau. These are the types of leaders we want in Nigeria. People who can stand, and eloquently confront the likes of President Barack Obama, and other world leaders. Buahri has nothing new to offer this country again. The end of Obasanjo should mark the end of military era in our society. We need fresh minds, that are innovative with ideals. We don’t want leaders with obsolete ideas. We dont want a Boko Haramist in Aso Rock. Buhari is as dead as Works Football Club Ado - Ekiti I was in primary school when Buhari/Tunde Idiagbon were saddled with the responsibilities of this great nation. Then, they used to tell us that we are the future leaders of this nation. 30yrs later, Buhari came begging for our votes again. When will the future come if we are still routing for Buhari a 70+ grandpa to be our president? The free and fair conduct of the 2011 National Assembly Elections in Nigeria and governorship elections in some states is a testament to the good inherent in the young, dynamic civilian president. Without the appointment of a credible INEC boss by a responsible, responsive, and selfless President, the victories/defeats recorded wouldnt have been achieved. The next year presidential election is around the conner to decide wholl preside over us for the next four years. Vote wisely! Vote for experience! Vote for Youth! Vote for Jonathan!!! Goodmoin Peepz!
