The joys of private praise are readily matched by the joys of corporate praise. Small wonder the Word encourages us not to forsake “the assembling of ourselves together” (Heb. 10:25). In the Psalms, repeated references to sharing the things of God “in the great assembly” emphasize the same truth: Worship involves the whole people of God, not just individuals. God’s righteousness and love and truth are too momentous to be hidden in the heart. The spirit of praise begs to “go public”!
