The key Word for Today is GO! (Part 2) Jesus transferred His anointing to each of His disciples, in Matthew, Chapter 10, as He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease (verse 1). The disciples had seen and heard Jesus, their Commanding Officer, work. But, now, it was time to see who was paying attention. The word, GO, precedes each line of order: GO to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (verse 6); As you GO, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand (verse 7). But, the disciples could not just preach, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. THEY HAD TO DEMONSTRATE IT! That is why Jesus told them, in verse 8: Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Jesus gave these further orders to His disciples, in verses 9, 10: Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, or scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. They are being sent out without money, without the written word, and with only the limited clothes on their backs! Jesus was setting the disciples up to TAKE THE LIMITS OFF OF GOD! He was teaching them to recognize Him as their Source and to know that, if they depended, wholly, on Him, they would never be UNDER circumstances; but, they would have victory OVER any and all circumstances that they would encounter. He wanted to teach them that all of the power to do these things comes from Him! Jesus, the Word, is still alive! If you have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then, you are His disciple; and He is your Commanding Officer, if you are following Him and taking His orders; and, the same anointing is transferable to you, through this same Word that Jesus spoke to His first disciples. And If Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness and THE SPIRIT OF HIM THAT RAISED UP CHRIST FROM THE DEAD LIVES IN YOU! (Romans 8:10, 11). You need to wake up, raise up, and GO!
