“ The key to having a restored relationship with God is identifying where you are, and turning to Jesus. ” One question can shape the entire next year of your life. What if it is possible to be closer to God? What if the distance you feel from God is not only unnecessary, but you can change it today? We all go through difficult times in life that cause us to feel isolated or cut off from God. In fact, there are 3 major traps that you can fall in to when running from God. The key to having a restored relationship with God is identifying where you are, and turning to Jesus. It is as simple as one decision. Today can be the day everything changes for you. See if you are in one of these categories and hear what God has to say to you. The BAD Decision maker Perhaps a string of bad decisions has brought you to a dead end. You are tired of the road you are on and ready to give up. There is great news for you! Jesus offers grace to those who want to turn around and head in a new direction with their life. You don’t have to stay where you are. Today can be a fresh start in your relationship with God Isaiah 1:18-19 King James Version (KJV) 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: The Hurt One Maybe you are far from God on purpose. You are hurt by another individual or circumstances in life that seem completely out of your control. So, you blame God. You are hurt and you want God to know it. These feelings can lead to bitterness, anger, and pain. The truth is carrying your pain and carrying your anger at God will wear you out. When you are tired, and ready to return, God is waiting. Don’t give up on the God who has never given up on you. Matthew 11:28-30 King James Version (KJV) 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. The Drifter You thought you were doing fine; come to think of it you are a “good” person. But, if you will stop and think about it for a few minutes you will realize that you are nowhere near as close to Jesus as you used to be, or could be. Where is the fire? Where is the abundant life God promised? If you are ready to get serious about your relationship with God, He is ready for you to make a commitment. Live for him completely and experience the abundant life Christ has to offer! John 10:10 King James Version (KJV) 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
