The knapsack /rucksack /backpack /haversack...what have you (they are all mostly the same) is fast becoming passé. The good ole sling bag, more formally known as a satchel, is making a come back in sophisticated designs. Remember, many years ago the handloom-cloth-made sling bag, very popular with the arty kind of folks, specially the thinking journalist/writer? In Tamil, we used to call it...Jolrapai? Well, the satchel, made of leather or canvas or some exotic new material, is the IN thing with the NOW GEN. It can carry everything from a pin to a pen, surely not an airplane, unless it is a toy! The handy bag has come a full circle, folks!
