The knowing difference between “meekness” and “humility” - TopicsExpress

The knowing difference between “meekness” and “humility” is hard for some. Are you being meek or are you being humble? In meekness there several of the following if not all; power, position, influence, affluence, right, and jurisdiction. None of these have to be present in humility. Heres the example. When youve called in late several times with various excuses and you know that you should have made changes in order do better, yet you did not. You see you supervisor/employer and expect to be verbally reprimanded in person or fired. However, to your surprise only a few words are said, you nob your head in agreement, and he or she goes about their day. How they handled the situation was meekness. How you handled it was humility. They had to power and so forth to rip you and new one, but didnt. You had the ability to make a scene and yet more excuses, instead you chose to take grace and mercy at face value. Way to go champ! We can now define “meekness” as authority with mercy, understanding, and integrity. A salute to the meekest man I know. No man took His life, He laid it down.
