The ladies of the Book Exchange delighted us with their While Shepherds Watched tableau of knitted teddies. There was a teddy Heavenly Choir and teddy shepherds watching over some adorable knitted sheep on the Bethlehem hillside and the hills themselves were constructed entirely from second-hand books. Some of the titles were very appropriate: The Choir, The Rectors Wife and A Village Affair seemed to fit the bill, while Teach Your Baby to Sleep Through the Night might have been a God-send to Mary and Joseph resting in the stable somewhere in the little town below. These very entertaining teddies are shortly to have another, even more exciting adventure. They are off to Uganda, where they will be delighting some very special children.
