The last Mile-Stone. Way over 300 years old, its the last milestone left in New Haven. It marks the 2 miles from Edgerton Park to the center of the New Haven green. All gone, except for this one. Having been incased in the Brewster estates 6 foot wall probably had a lot to do with it. Peter said it extends 4-5 feet in the ground. In the 18th or 19th century , if the grass grows a foot tall or if it snows 2 feet , you cant see a short marker. So back in the 18th century if you where on Whitney Ave riding a hoarse or in a carriage on a dirt road, you would see this and say Thou are but two miles left to travel for New Haven.
