The last, (but certainly) not the least of our Junior Scholarship winners for 2014. We are proud to have showcased this very talented group of students over the past few months. Nathan Hanna received his Scholarship for Sport. Nathan has been an Otago Representative since the age of 11. He has a sound set of skills in the game and is now developing an understanding of offensive and defensive systems. He is already playing A grade with the schools 1st Basketball squad on Friday nights. Nathan is also a valued tenor of OBHS Choir, Mandate, and the combined OBHS/OGHS Choir, Barock. Added to this Nathan achieves to a high level in class. He consistently receives good results and is a well-respected leader amongst his peers. Manawa Rakete Shea receivesd his Scholarship for Sport. Manawa is a highly talented rugby player who possess all the necessary skills to perform at the highest level. He has a natural ability to read the game and has the undoubted leadership skills that earn natural respect from his teammates. His skill set is huge - pass accurately off both hands and kick accurately with both feet. Manawa also has a tremendous training ethic. He always looks for ways to improve his game and seeks advice on how to develop. He is also an outstanding Tennis player who has the potential to lead school teams in the future. Tom McGregor received his Scholarship for Sport. Tom is a keen rugby player who has a tremendous work ethic and is always searching for ways to improve his game. He is an accurate kicker of the ball and has the ability to lead a team around the park. Toms game awareness is improving rapidly and he is a stoic defender. His attitude is impressive. He values hard work at training and realises that he will benefit from the work he puts into developing his game. He always gives 110%.
