The last couple weeks have been difficult for Kadin. He has - TopicsExpress

The last couple weeks have been difficult for Kadin. He has struggled with the loss of his best friend, his granny momma. We all have. When we made the choice to let Kadin visit my mom in the hospital it was something we really struggled with. For my mom, for him, for his health, it all had to be considered. Knowing my mom was dying I decided that Kadin needed to see her. They both needed each other. At the time I believed Kadins body to medically be strong enough to ward off anything that he could pick up from going into the hospital. A few days after my mom passed Kadin became very ill. He had violent fevers, confusion, trouble breathing, green snot and uncontrollable shaking. Finally after a week I was able to get some answers when they ordered blood cultures. They cultured the blood from Kadins Hickman and it grew out a bacteria within a few hours. The culprit is a Pseudomonas infection. We have been doing 2 IV antibiotics at home every 8 hours. Although it is very time consuming I am so thankful I am able to do this at home for him. Otherwise this would warrant another couple weeks in the hospital and again expose Kadin to more sickness. He is getting stronger again everyday. For now they have postponed his chemo again until he is well. Our next sedation day is scheduled for December 3rd. In the meantime please be praying his body continues to respond to the antibiotics, for his counts to improve, and for a complete a total healing.
