The last designer item I bought (other than my cameras flash which is not so much designer as selected by virtue of tech) was a pair of riding boots in 2007. I bought them less for name and more for being the best option because of quality even knowing the price. I have neither the time nor the *need* to own a designer anything when there are much more important places to put the money we have. Im looking for a reasonable alternative for a camera bag that could pass for a large purse or laptop case of sorts for the weddings I am shooting solo. The new camera body is much larger than the last one and no longer fits the bag I used and it is just not an option to go without one at some locations or events. The problem is that most of the things sized right are honestly very ugly or informal, and the ones that are not so hideous are exceptionally over priced. Ive started looking at places with off brand bags and keep running into the this is just a copy of XYZ brand, why not just stop being cheep and buy that one? So, as a not so girlie type of person I have to ask, does brand name really matter?
