The last few days I’ve heard a lot of highbrow talk about how terrible the United States was for using waterboarding to gather information about the terrorist networks that attacked us on 911. I can guarantee you that if all these morally superior individuals were faced with the situation of saving their children or grandchildren from suffering a prolonged agonizing death at the hands of a terrorist group they wouldn’t hesitate to authorize waterboarding of someone that could give them the information that would save their loved ones. And I’ll go so far as to say that they wouldn’t stop at the waterboarding if that didn’t provide the needed information.
