The last few days were uneventfull, yesterday night I said to myself well, I would have to finally really write something since there is nothing really to report, in the morning I will have to make something up, or engage in really telling something worth telling, that is to recover from banality things that deserve to be hoisted into the realm of the meaning, and found nothing deserving such effort. Night passed and then was day. Field report nr.14: This morning I woke up ready to sit in front of this screen and let the electrons roll. Alas, there was no electricity. I went down to the riverside for a walk, I had a "lomito" sandwich and enjoyed my walk for an hour and a half, came back to Hugo´s house and everybody was up. I asked why is it that there is no electricity, is it a house thing? was the whole neighbourhood cut? maybe all the city?. A strange answer followed: "Really, is there no electricity?" They are up for about an hour and don´t even notice there is no electricity. I loved that, there was hot water from the gas heater and lunch was about to be made on the parrilla -coal-. They didn´t even call the electrical company assuming that they should know (of course), they didn´t ask the neighbours either assuming that is was irrelevant. They just checked the house´s electricity board and went on about their sunday business (staring at the river, barbecuing lunch, reading something, practicing siesta-meditation, preparing mate, talking some futbol (not football which isn´t talkable), politics and general nonsense. The only thing that marked that there was no electricity was that Hugo said that his mother won´t be for lunch today because the elevetor in her flat isn´t working as ther is no electricity...OK he said, there will be less talk, all the better. Morning, noon and afternoon passed through and the lack of electricity wasn´t felt. Half an hour ago somebody noticed the microwave working, electricity came back as unnoticed as when it dissapeared. "Sin dramas" (without any drama) will be catchword from today on.
