The last of Cappuccilli! This performance of Nabucco from the Arena di Verona in 1992 was the final or next to final performance of the great Cappuccilli, I believe. He suffered a tragic automobile accident upon the conclusion of, I think, this very performance. He had been singing just about 40 years, and, as can be heard, his voice was still in top shape, with that ringing Ab at the end. But it is the difficult legato aria, Dio ti Giuda, that really tells the story about breath control, legato, and still easy and wonderful singing of the passaggio.
