The last photograph of W. B. Yeats (now on display in Lissadell, Yeats Gallery). This photograph was given by his widow, George Yeats, to Belfast poet and friend R.N.D. Wilson, and Wilson has identified the cat on Yeats bed as Minnaloushe. Now Minnaloushe was a black cat, not white. Perhaps Yeats nicknamed all his cats Minnaloushe after the black Minnaloushe he wrote about in THE CAT AND THE MOON. Fascinating. Do take time to visit the Yeats Gallery if you are coming to the Christmas Market on the Spirit of Christmas Day at Lissadell, Sunday 7th December.
