The last three days have been fabulous. Timing my drive up to Oxfordshire so I could stop off to meet the artists at The Brewery Arts Centre in Cirencester, I met Carol Burns, a lovely fun lady who has some pictures in the Christmas craft exhibition. One artist commented on Carols work as being mathematical and scientific which is spot on. Mainly pen with collage, Carols work has a strong line and explores emotions which touch on her work in the community. It is well worth a visit if you are in that neck of the woods. I also unexpectedly met Tina Seviour who had some of her silver jewellery on display in the same exhibition hall. Both lovely ladies, I hope they do well. Cirencester is a place I have driven past and never stopped into but now it is discovered, I intend to re-visit, it is such a beautiful place full of independent and arty shops. Sunday took Mum and I to Longworth where Martin Beek is displaying some of his oil paintings and prints in the Positive Space - Art Weeks Arts Weeks exhibition. His bold and clever use of breaking the image down into a series of line and strokes which change into a vibrant overall image as one steps back, was too much for me and I had to buy one! The happy feeling was worth it and negated any guilt I had for splashing out so wildly!
