The last time I had jury duty, I told the judge I wouldnt weigh - TopicsExpress

The last time I had jury duty, I told the judge I wouldnt weigh the testimony of a police officer more than anyone else. In fact, Id probably weigh it less. The judge asked me why? I told him I grew up in North Philly and lived through the 39th District corruption. I remember Blondie and the rest of those cops really well.... Their brutality.... Their corruption. I watched them steal from citizens. In fact, a 39th District cop stole $20 from me when I was a teenager. (Post-scandal). He and his comrades put me and my friends on the wall on Lippincott St., frisked us and let us go. He took the money my grandmother gave me to get a haircut (I never told my dad.... I knew he was gonna go up there and mess around and get locked up trying to protect me). I told the judge all of this. I humbly explained to him why I had issues with officers. He got really frustrated, yelled at me, and said that was old news. I then name dropped Abner Louima, Amadou Diallo, and Sean Bell and told him it was systemic. He then called me a few choice names and kicked me out of the courtroom. I wonder what his honor is thinking right now with this new Philly cop scandal. I told him it wasnt over. I told him it was bigger than just what happened in the 90s. This isnt to say that ALL cops are terrible. The well is definitely tainted though. Its not up to me/us to forgive, forget and get over it. Its up to police EVERYWHERE to fix it and earn our trust back. :::::::End Rant:::::::
