The last time I parasailed was at Homestead Air Force Base, - TopicsExpress

The last time I parasailed was at Homestead Air Force Base, Florida, during Water Survival Training, 1974. The difference between a military and civilian launch is how they recover you. We were launched off a flat boat in the ocean. Suspended for a 1000 feet and parachuted into the water with a one man life raft and water wings attached to you. After swimming out from under the parachute the problem was that you had to blow them up yourself. Once you accomplished this the hardest problem was just getting into the raft since you have all of your uniform and gear on. Then bailing out the water and waiting to be rescued by a helicopter. And I was paid for all that fun!!!! Yes, you right it is Awesome!!! Glad you got to experience it. T (oh, I forgot to mention the sharks, lol)
