The last two Kirklees bi-elections have shown that the Lib/Dems - TopicsExpress

The last two Kirklees bi-elections have shown that the Lib/Dems are under new instructions. Gone are the “Winning Here” posters (Loosing everywhere does not have the same ring), even the Lib/Dem name has disappeared from posters. The new game is to invent an issue. It doesn’t matter what the issue is, it doesn’t need the availability of a solution, or even any past Lib/Dem attempt to look for a solution. The campaign is called “Whingeing Here”. In Spen the Issue was “Save our Baths” – this was despite the fact that nothing had changed from when they were in power. In Golcar it is a “Bridge too Far” – an illusion that if they could find a spare £2m, all they would have to do would be to build a bridge and all the areas traffic problems would be solved. The fact that Highway engineers don’t agree, and there is no chance of the money being allocated from the regional pot, is irrelavent. So the task, if you choose to accept it, is to think what would the Lib/Dems put up on a poster in your ward.
