The late 70’s was a wonderful time for popular music… what we now call classic rock was selling out the Carolina Coliseum with seemingly weekly shows, southern rock ruled the “southland”, early disco had not become cliché’ , outlaw country was headed from Austin and punk was about to take it all back to basics… But if you were in the USC Marching Band, it was always…always… about the funk … This song made me think of those days when we would roll out the Carolina Band PA system on some ballroom in Columbia and the brothers and sista’s – red and yellow , black and white would throw it down… So an early… THANK GOD IT’S FUNKDAY!!!
