The late Myles Monroe says in this video (at 4:55-5:55), So, do you know why the people at your job really aint Christians right now? Cause youre preaching to them JESUS CHRIST... See, thats not what youre supposed to preach. You preach the kingdom of God to the folks on the job... People aint worried about NO BLOOD or NO CROSS. They worrying about how theyre going to make it through the day. vs. what Luke writes in Acts 5:27-30, 42, When they had brought them, they stood them before the Council. The high priest questioned them, saying, “We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this man’s BLOOD (emphasis mine) upon us.” But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers RAISE UP JESUS (emphasis mine), whom you had PUT TO DEATH (emphasis mine) by hanging Him ON A CROSS (emphasis mine)... And every day, in the temple and from house to house, THEY KEPT RIGHT ON TEACHING AND PREACHING JESUS (emphasis mine) as the Christ. Besides this diabolic attempt to get people to focus on another gospel (Gal. 1:8-9), which will result in their condemnation, this is essentially what the modern Church has been doing for decades! Its called the modern gospel because it refuses to use Gods tools - the Ten Commandments - to make the shed blood, cross and resurrection of Jesus relevant to the sin-hardened neighbor or colleague or friend. So what do we do? We offer the improve-your-trip-on-earth gospel which will not lead anyone to repentance and saving faith. Myles Monroe is blatantly a false teacher, but his message resonated (and will continue to resonate) with the modern Evangelical because it is a variation on his existing evangelistic approach.
