The latest (and greatest) on Ardele: I brought her home, accompanied by a catheter-ugh, at about 4:30 yesterday afternoon. Then I had to leave her alone for awhile to go get her meds. She managed okay, then her sister and husband came and brought DINNER! Hip, hip, hooray! I am NOT a cook. She ate more of her sisters food for dinner than she had all week. Then, while I went to church to preach, fulfilling my regular, first-Wednesday-evening-Bible-study-of-every-other-month turn in the pulpit, our next-door neighbor graciously stayed with her, then went home when I returned at about 9. This morning, my beloved awakened at about 7 after having slept soundly all night in our own bed. Color has returned to her face...pain in her lower back diminished considerably...blood in urine diminishing...ate a hearty breakfast (I CAN turn on the coffee-maker, pour pomegranate juice, fix toast, and fry eggs and bacon--about the extent of my meal preparation training--boy, do I NEED AND APPRECIATE HER)...overall pain now less acute--is just bearable soreness, and she is resting comfortably in our recliner, while I do the laundry (another first for me--I brought the laundry hamper to the living room and she directed me how to sort the clothes).
