The latest college ranking report is from Money magazine. The writers pronounce that they have ranked colleges based on 17 categories in hopes of establishing objectivity and credibility. But like other well-known rankings some of the information is gathered from alumni who choose to complete and send back a survey. The “quality of education” factor is partly based on the standardized test scores of incoming freshmen. If we believe that the students with the higher test scores are the ones who sent back the survey (successful alumni), we can be sure of the bottom line of this rank ordering: Money.
