To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Kiehl’s Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion, the 163-year-old skin care company unveils a new Limited Edition bottle inspired by one of the formula’s most famous fans. Since debuting in the early 60s, the blue stuff, as it’s known by loyal fans, has reached product icon status, generated legions of loyal celebrity fans, including Andy Warhol. To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion, Kiehls introduces a Limited Edition bottle designed by renowned photographer and Andy’s friend, Christopher Makos, who captured Warhol’s essence in frequent portraits through the years. Says Makos, about the collaboration, Andy Warhol related successful art to successful business. Kiehls is great to work with because they get it. The limited edition bottle features 18 of Christopher Makos’ iconic photos, including images that depict an homage to New York City. Since the formula first debuted in the early 60’s, Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion has sold nearly 900 thousand bottles in the last 5 years and even found a home in the permanent archives of The Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
