Happy wintertime! We will get through it with our love of life and a creative spirit, right?! And what are we going to do this year at the Art Room?! Well, there are lots of new and fun projects and classes planned, so let’s just start with January and February! Ready? ***New class! Saturday, February 8th from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. – “Watercolors 101!” with Diane Rachel. Just gorgeous! Class is entitled “Dew Drop In!” Learn how to apply dewdrops of color to paper that will create bright and colorful flowers! Class fee is $20.00. Please let us know if you would like to register and we will give you a small list of supplies to bring… Please pre-register and pre-pay. ***Please let us know if your birthday is in January, we will be having our “January Ladies” birthday party this Saturday, January 25th at noon. Let us know if you will be coming. If no one replies, we will just wait for our “February Ladies” birthday party scheduled for the last Saturday of February, February 22nd at noon, ok?! (Don’t miss out on cake and cards!) Saturday, January 25th from 10 a.m. till noon – Saturdays, February 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd from 10 a.m. till noon – “Make & Take!” Come play with Bonnie at the “Art Bar” and bring home a FREE “make & take!” fun greeting card or tag! Tuesday, January 28th from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. – Tuesdays, February 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. – “Tuesday Template/Technique” class with Bonnie! Come in - take an hour out of your Tuesday afternoon – we’ll be using a new template or technique on a project to add to your collection! Class fee is only $5.00. Please bring your “basic kit.” Please let us know by the Saturday before that Tuesday if you would like to join us. Please pre-register and please pre-pay. Thanks! Thursday, February 13th from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. – “ATCs!” with Bonnie! Want to learn more about “artist trading cards?” Then this is the class for you! Remember to bring your “basic kit.” Class fee is $5.00. Please pre-register and pre-pay. Thursday, January 30th from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. – Thursday, February 27th from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. – “Paperdolls!” with Bonnie is the theme for our 2014 monthly class! I think it will be fun! Have any of us really ever outgrown paperdolls? Ha! I think not! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ready for my second childhood. We will hold a paperdoll class the last Thursday of every month. (Exceptions are November and December, when it will be the first Thursday of the month because of the holidays.) Class fee is $5.00. Please pre-register and pre-pay. “Birthday Parties!” Please remember to sign our “birthday calendar” sheets! Starting January 2014, we will have monthly parties on the last Saturday of each month to celebrate all of our friends’ birthdays that month! We will have a cake and ice cream and snacks! (Please check our calendar sheet list each month and bring birthday cards for our wonderful birthday ladies!) *** Shop our “Art to Wear!” cubby where we are carrying vintage, retro, altered and upcycled creations by Marcella! You never know what you will find and Marcella will be bringing in new things every week – clothing, hats, purses, jewelry, home goods, TOO much fun! And all one-of-a-kind! Please come see what she has! *** Don’t forget! Iris is our wonderful “beaded jewelry” instructor who also does jewelry repair. Let us know if you need her help! Watch for classes coming up with Iris in the near future! *** Remember to bring in your punch card when shopping– you get a “punch” for every $5.00 spent (does not include tax, classes, consignment or sale merchandise) When you fill up the card, you will receive $15.00 off your next purchase. (Sorry, we will no longer be doing monthly drawings.) ***Please remember to pre-register and pre-pay for all classes at least one week in advance. This gives our instructors time to plan and organize your class kits. All classes may be paid for by cash or check, check must be made out to the instructor. No class fee payments by charge cards, sorry… *** Important! Please bring your “basic class kit” to any classes you might attend. Please bring only these items, space is limited at the “Art Bar” to spread out too much, sorry. Thanks! This consists of: *pencil/paper *scissors/ detail scissors * gluestick *favorite tape adhesive *bone folder *personal cutter/scorer *ruler *rubber brayer *black permanent ink pad * Tim Holtz distress inks – black soot and vintage photo *crafting apron or old shirt so we can get messy! If you do not have everything, you may certainly borrow one of ours or purchase it here at the shop.
