The latest report of the National Nutrition Monitoring Bureau (NNMB) India, showed that nearly 6 per cent of children in Tamil Nadu, including those in the 0-5 months age group, are not being breast-fed. Experts believe culminating factors like absence of adequate support and guidance by elders in the family, increased reliance on commercial baby foods to be responsible for the predicament.
