The leaf.pt 1 The Leaf whispers to the great Oak, "Please...dont let me fall, I fear the winds will still and I shall miss my place of rest among the eternal nature of things....please hold me". The Oak, old as time and wise as Earth silently smiles at the Leaf. " My child, you are the last to leave. I do not hold you for I am ready in the eternal nature of things but for you. It is you that holds me. Let go my child, Winter is coming and the Autumn winds are here Now to gather the last of Summer and take them into their new worlds. Let go....I love you". As the last words of the old Oak seep through the bark, the last leaf unhinges from its branch and silently falls toward the Earth beneath. The bringers of Autumn sing to the winds and the leaf is swept within the granite skies as if scooped by a mighty hand, and taken to its rightful place in the nature of things. Gently laid upon the Ochre and crimson carpets like old rags sewn into a beautiful tapestry, where the last of them will be taken by the Autumnal squeeze and thrown to the winter winds to be taken to their new worlds in the springtimes of things. As the majestic dawn rises upon a new world and the heat burns upon the frozen lands, a droplet rises upon a blade of grass in the meadows of birth. "Grass, dont let me go. I fear the Sun will fade and I shall be missed and my chance of finding the great mother ocean will be gone....please dont let me go" The grass, green as Emeralds soft as feathers turns to the Sun and offers the dew in devotion to a dream once cast by frightened leaf. The windows of light shine brightly upon the droplet, wherein leafmemories that lay dormant are lifted into the lowland haze and beyond. Ever rising, lifting and dissolving into the grandeur of an almighty sky. .........................
