The lecture at the Ibero high school In San Nicolas was well received. A group of around 300 students and 18 staff members listened attentively. There were no space for Q & A the students had to get to their respective classes. According to Mr. Andy Centeno, the director of the school, two points which really stood out were the facts that his students were open to receiving additional knowledge regarding the slavery past and its heritage plus this lecture was symbolic in the sense that they saw and realized, the skies are their limits. If an enslaved person like Frederik Douglass (1818 -1895) could educate himself during the epoch of chattel slavery to attain his liberation, teach others and rose to be among other things an abolitionist, they too can in this day and age achieve their goals through education and knowledge. He even mentioned Bob Marleys Educate yourself from mental slavery. The students applauded intensively.
