The list of witnesses include those who have already withdrawn and those that are expected to testify. They include prominent and little known personalities with former administration police commandant Oku Kaunya being one of the key witnesses. Kaunya, it has been revealed, will testify against Uhuru Kenyatta and how state machinery was used during the post election violence. Another witness is Joseph Njoroge Thuo. He is a key witness in the Uhuru case and is currently living in an unknown location under the care of the ICC ICC WITNESSES John Githongo, a former adviser of former president Mwai Kibaki is also expected to testify. ICC is depending on Githongo to unearth and and give an insight on the historical roots of the violence Another witness is Mombasa senator, Haassan Omar. Word going around has it that Omar was initially listed as a potential witness against Uhuru and Ruto but its now emerging that he has either withdrawn or is contemplating withdrawal The list also includes two relatives from Naivasha, one named Waithanji and his cousin. They both hail from Mai Mahiu in Nakuru county and are to testify on matters relating to Naivasha killings. On Ruto and Sang’s cases, lead witnesss Samuel Kosgei- alias Arap Cheburet, Joseph Kosgei- alias Titwa William Kingoo, Robert Kiplangat and Meshak Yaibei have withdrawn from the case Ngo’mbe and Chumo are said to have agreed to be witnesses to revenge on Sang who was their boss at KASS FM where they say he had them sacked. Also appearing on the list in circulation are names of a David Koecha former pastor with the SDA church, Bethuel Ruto and David Ngenda. Before the confirmation of the charges against the six suspects, sources revealed that a clique allied to the PNU which included strategists, businessmen, provincial administration and government officials identified one Abraham Limo who was a close ally of Mary Wambui- now Othaya MP and then PNU activist, William Rono to be used to lure Kalenjin youths to testify against Ruto and Henry Kosgei. But its now alleged that Rono was later to become one of the witnesses who has since withdrawn his testimony
