The live music/cafe/wine bar/restaurant proposed for Maylands Lyric Lane (see The Lyric Lane Concept) might be in trouble and the applicants are asking all those supporting it to let Council know by 4.30pm THIS FRIDAY 15 August. Although the proposed development would include a soundproofed lower floor live music venue, cafe/wine bar with dress codes and appropriate prices, and a residential component that will contribute to the night time safety of the area around Lyric Lane, applicants believe a petition against the proposal is circulating in the wake of recent concerns over the Dan Murphys application. We believe that a quality cultural and entertainment venue in the heart of the area is precisely what Maylands and specifically the area around Lyric Lane needs.
