The local election is over. It was rather frustrating to see people posting harsh words. Ive got friends from both liberal and conservative sides and they are all good friends, fathers, mothers, and pleasant to be with. But some, who demonise the candidates from opposing parties tend to believe that those who support other candidates are either evil, moronic, or simply brainless. I beg to differ. If someone was to claim that Im wrong, I can introduce them to my friends who are highly educated, cultured, and most of all, a person of ethics. Probably, better than someone who is rash enough to challenge my claim. Although they support different candidates, they did so, as they believe its the best for the society. I hope I will have my good friends back. After all, its time to keep calm and carry on. 이제 눈이 좀 편해지려나... 선거철 포스팅들은 평소 아름다운 글을 쓰던 페친들도 과격하게 만들고, 통상 D-30 정도부터 나타나던 현상이 올해는 세월호 참사등으로 앞당겨졌다. 사실 내 페친들 하나하나 면면을 보면 좋은 아빠, 엄마, 친구들이고, 대부분 법을 안어기고 모범적인 삶들을 살고 있다. 나보다 똑똑하고 많이 배우고, 인격적으로 훌륭한 친구들도 많다. 그리고 지지하는 후보는 다를지언정 모두 우리 사회가 잘되거나 지키기 위해 자신의 입장을 피력하는 것이다. 마치 오바마 대통령이 정책을 반대하거나 지지한 사람 모두 애국자라고 일컫은것과 같다. 하지만 자신이 지지하지 않은 후보를 좋아하는 사람들은 똑 같이 사악하거나 생각을 못하고 좀비처럼 관성에 따라 움직이는 사람들이라 믿는다. 만일 그래도 내 생각이 틀리고 자신만 똑똑하다 하고 도덕적이라고 한다면 그 코를 납작하게 해줄 사람들을 양 진영에서 다 데려올 수 있다. 이젠 다 그냥 평소 내가 좋아하던 페친들로 돌아왔으면 좋겠다. 이젠 침착하게 일상으로 돌아갈때(Keep calm and carry on)가 아닌가 싶다.
