The magic of theatre isnt in the intricate storytelling, or the colours and the warmth found in a melody or lyrics, or even in the way the performers arrest your heart with a spectacular song or dance. The magic is found in the relationships formed, and created between the cast, and crew. Its the overflow of the joy and love within these connections that ensures the magic occurs on stage, and elevates the performance from something that was merely enjoyable to something that truly moves the hearts of the audience and stays with them long after the curtain falls. To all my friends and family in theatre who have made this journey so magical, and in particular my beautiful friends in Hairspray the Musical - Auckland 2014. You make me proud to be part of something so brilliant, enjoyable, and magical. You have taken up permanent residency in my heart. If you havent seen our show, you need to watch it, not just because the music, story, choreography, or direction is great, but because there is friendship, there is chemistry, there is connection, there is Magic!
