The main problem: The great-granddaddy of Sunday-morning Beltway blabfests isn’t just not No. 1. It’s No. 3 and in the midst of a three-year slide. Not that they would ever ask me of course but I could tell them exactly why the show is failing. We all knew Tim Russert was a Democrat. Hell, he used to work on the Hill for Democrats but he was even handed and asked tough questions of both Democrats and Republicans. The way Gregory runs the show, youd expect him to get a paycheck from NBC and the DNC at the end of the week! While hes questioning Democrats hes throwing them giant softballs but with Republicans he sounds like a federal prosecutor. The so called regular analysts they have on, especially the Black elected officials are just shills (the mayor of Atlanta, the mayor of Baltimore and a Black Democratic congresswoman from CA) who dont give out objective analysis, its just Democratic talking points that were emailed to them the night before. Who wants to listen to that? I might as well turn on MSNBC if I want Democrat party propaganda. Ive been watching the show since the mid 80s when Garrick Utley was the host. The show is just horrible now. The only reason I watch it is because its part of my Sunday morning routine for 30 plus years now.
