The main reason I build fences for dogs is my Boxer Boy Nikolai. He spent the first 6 months of his life on a 6 foot chain on a concrete slab. His world was literally a 12 foot circle in someones backyard. When we rescued him he had no fur on his feet and weighed just 20 pounds, he was a bag of bones, yet he had the most amazing personality and he is such a gentle soul. He now weighs 50 pounds and lives the good life with his Husky and Boxer sisters. Knowing where Nik came from and what he became is what inspired me to build fences. All dogs want is to be around us, we bred them that way. To chain up a dog is to lockup part of your soul, that part which is care free, fun loving, and embodies love and caring. Chained dogs arent bad dogs, they are just dogs who are in a bad situation. Taking on this project has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life, and I can never imagine not doing it. Here are pictures of Nikolai the first day we got him and a more current picture with his Husky big sister Isabelle.
