The major criticism of Labour from the far-left and green supporters is that Labour are somehow Tory lite. Well, if supporting the abolition of the House of Lords, Increased minimum wage, Mansion Tax, Properly funded NHS, Renationalised railways in Wales, Breaking up the big six, Freezing energy prices, Breaking up the banks, bankers bonuses tax, Votes for 16, PR in the Lords, A living wage of £8.50 per hour that multinationals have signed up to, Our communities being spared from the brunt of austerity, County and City regions, The biggest devolution of power since 1945, 50p tax rate, rail fares being capped, 200,000 new homes a year, Rent controls, new social tarif for water company customers,banning of zero hours contracts, and clamping down on tax avoidance is Tory light, then count me in! I accept that we could be more radical, but to dismiss what could be the most radically left-wing government since 1974 as Tory lite is absurd. Milibands Labour is closer to nordic social democracy than it is to Toryism.
