The majority of people in the Western Cape think they are better off under the DA & dont trust the ANC to govern them as reflected in the national election results time after time, despite not being happy with the DA (my assertion & experience that it is more a mistrust and lack of confidence in the ANC than a preference and loyalty to the DA) To attribute the reason to this as mere ethnic identity & racism issues is nonsense. Racist prejudices impact on political choices everywhere in SA and not only in the Western Cape. If the ANC ever wants to achieve an outright election victory in the Western Cape, it needs to frankly interrogate why the biggest section of the Western Cape communities lack confidence in the ANC & dont trust the ANC, and start to address these issues NOW.
