The man, Obi. As Obi exits, today, as the governor of Anambra state, the people should be grateful to him for charting a new path in Anambra politics. I congratulate him for a job well done. I am one of those who believe Obi performed well. To me, Obi is not a politician in the Nigerian context; he lacks the mentality and the exhibitionist character of the average Nigerian politician. Obi is a polished fellow. He fought and defeated the unrelenting forces of the Anambra cash and carry politicians. Three times he was in the cold and three times he came back. God was on his side. It is only Obi who could give out money to stakeholders to carry out developmental projects, projects that touch the lives of the people. Imagine Obi giving money to churches and communities to execute projects on education, healthcare, etc. These are projects he could have awarded the contracts at less than half the estimated budget, as others do, while pocketing the balance in alliance with his party. That tells a lot about the man, Obi, and his type of politics. No other governor can do that. Maybe, Obi doesnt know how to chop money. Recall that before Obi, Anambras money used to be kill and divide between godfathers and their sons. Obi changed that. In fact, Nigeria needs people like Obi. So, as he bows out today, I wish him Gods blessings and the best in his new assignment.
